Endings and Beginnings

Dear Readers, I would like to thank you for sharing time with my thoughts and musings here at callmethoreau, and invite you to join my latest endeavor. As you probably know, this blog hasn’t been very active lately. This is because my time has been spent exclusively on fiction, which is after all my passion. Satire and speculative fiction.

At Tales of Terra you will find both, along with a smattering of book and movie reviews and a poem or two. Fear not: much of this modern pioneer’s philosophy seeps into his stories. This is how the most recent one begins:

Flesh Mob:

“The day of the accident throngs of people gathered outside the hospital, erecting tents and crude privacy shelters of camouflaged mesh or cardboard, their CB radios and web-fi devices rehashing every tidbit of data leaked by zealous EMTs and junior police officers. Some of the gawkers lacked the means to build shelters and settled for blankets on the ground. The most economically stressed, like Samantha Doyle and Walter Hodges, simply leaned against the chain-link fence and waited.”
